It is officially football season. Of course, the Hall of Fame game is the most boring thing EVER.
Carson Palmer targeted his newest weapon, Terrell Owens numerous times during his short time on the field. T.O. had a pair of catches for 18 yards, his third reception was called back on a Chad Ochocino penalty. The Cowboys ground out the Bengals for a 16-7 win.
The Bills have finally agreed to terms with firs-round draft pick C.J. Spiller.
It is about damn time. This is the second year in a row that Buffalo’s first pick has been tardy for training camp.
Heading into the season the Bills offense is as big of a question mark as it was last season. The situation at tackle is a huge question mark and there is no clear cut starter at quarterback.

The Buffalo Bills reported to training camp yesterday and began practicing today. Only C.J. Spiller remains unsigned after Terrell Troup reached an agreement yesterday.
Terrell Owens is employed once again. The loudmouth wideout agreed to a one-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals.
So, Sports Science is a pretty cool show. It wasn’t too bad when it was on FSN and ESPN took it and really turned it into what it should have been all along, a 2-3 minute hit, not a 30-minute show.
Of course, ESPN didn’t get their hands on the show soon enough. Because they managed to put out this beauty:
I know the results of the show say that Trent Edwards has a quicker release and reaction than a gunslinger, but seriously? I’m pretty sure if they had the chance they would go another route. The only saving grace here is that Sports Science probably did this show before Edwards entrenched himself as Captain Checkdown.
WGR 550 (amongst others) that Marshawn Lynch was back participating at One Bills Drive today. The biggest soap opera the Bills have had to deal with is now over with, unless Lynch is traded. The sad part is, it shouldn’t have been an issue considering the Bills’ RB depth.
After drafting C.J. Spiller, plus the year that Fred Jackson had in 2009, the Bills didn’t seem to need their 2008 first-round pick. So, Lynch stayed away, missed a handful of optional practices until today. He is back to work, but does it really matter? Right now, he is the third best running back on the team. Realistically, he is the only every down back the Bills posses. He was drafted because he is a monster carrying the ball and he can catch out of the backfield. Yet, he was rarely used as a receiving target by the greatest check-down passer the NFL has ever seen.
Either way, I feel that if Lynch can be put in the right situation he can succeed. Fred Jackson has a lot of value right now, why not capitalize on that and trade him? If you can get a fourth round pick for Lynch I bet you could get a third for Jackson, at least. I make this point because a tandem of Lynch and Spiller would be a true thunder and lightning combo for the Bills.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t really matter who is running the ball with a patchwork offensive line.
The Buffalo Bills created a ton of buzz last season when they signed Terrell Owens. The signing put Buffalo in the sports and celebrity reality show spotlight – and it sold a bunch of tickets too.
While a fifth-round draft pick won’t sell too many Jim Kelly Club seats, Ed Wang has a boatload of international appeal. Now, perhaps, the Bills have lost their new media darling to, what has originally been categorized as a high-ankle sprain.
The Bills probably weren’t counting on selling too many tickets to folks over in Hong Kong, but the merchandise sales in the world’s largest country could be astronomical, especially if Wang were to see significant time. Of course, this injury changes everything. Bills head coach, Chan Gailey feared that they may have lost Wang for the season.
While the bottom line is perhaps the most important factor for a Bills team that isn’t expected to make much noise in the AFC East this season, losing Wang depletes an already thin offensive line. Incumbent starter, Demetrius Bell, was a disaster on the left side last year. However, there isn’t too much else to choose from as the Bills signed a right tackle (Cornell Green) in free agency and didn’t address o-line in the draft until the fifth round with the selection of Wang.
The early outlook is bleak for a speedy return for the former Virginia Tech bookend, but if he can make it back for training camp I feel there is a better than good chance he is the starter come opening day.
